Successful Completion of "Meet the Author" featuring author Anisul Hoque

We are thrilled to share with you that the Department of English organized a program titled "Meet the Author" or "মুখোমুখি আনিসুল হক" featuring the esteemed author Anisul Hoque on Thursday, May 30, 2024, at 11 am in room no A 302. 

The program was inaugurated with the welcome speech of our respective faculty member, Dr. Serajum Munira, Associate Professor, Department of English and Director, CLCS, GUB. Throughout the program, we delved into the fascinating world of literature, engaging with the renowned author, exploring his works, and gaining invaluable insights into his creative processes. Apart from our focal person, Anisul Hoque, two of our colleagues, Dr. Elham Hossain, Associate Professor, Department of English, GUB, and Dr. Md. Shamim Mondol, Associate Professor, Department of English, GUB, enlightened us with their critical appreciation of Anisul Hoque's two novels consecutively মা and কখনো আমার মাকে

We were grateful to our honorable chief guest Prof. Dr. Mohammad Shorif Uddin, Vice Chancellor, Green University of Bangladesh, for making time to join us in spite of his busy schedule. We were blessed to have our Pro-Vice  Chancellor, Green University of Bangladesh, Prof. Dr. Khawza Iftekhar Uddin Ahmed, with us as our special guests. Our distinguished guest, Prof. Dr. Md. Golam Samdani Fakir, Distinguished Professor, Green Business School, also adorned the program with his presence and thought provoking words. 

Faculty members and students were also present and dazzled by the charm of a writer like Anisul Hoque. There was a question-answer session for the students, and they met up their thirst and curiosity to meet an author face-to-face through this program and demonstrated their enthusiasm for literature by asking insightful questions. 

Prof. Dr. M Shahidullah, Chairperson, Department of English, & Dean, Faculty of Arts and Social Science, delivered his concluding remarks by thanking everyone for joining the program, especially our focal person, Anisul Hoque, for making time for Green University of Bangladesh despite his tight schedule. Moreover, it was a great opportunity for the students to have the acquaintance of an author in such close proximity, which has cherished their latent talent for literature in both Bangla and English.
