Guidelines for Keep a Congenial Atmosphere at Green Cafe
Green University of Bangladesh (GUB) has recently opened a cafeteria (Green Café) to provide quality food services to the faculty members,
administrative staff, and students of the university. It is the responsibility of all to demonstrate
good manners and etiquette to ensure a congenial environment in the Cafe. To ensure it, the followings guidelines are to be followed:
- Wait for Food to Be Prepared: If your food is not ready when you order, wait patiently and avoid complaining loudly.
- Wait Your Turn: When entering the cafeteria or standing in a queue, wait for your turn patiently. Don't break the serial of the waiting queue.
- Line Etiquette: Once in a waiting queue, maintain a reasonable distance from the person in front of you to respect personal space.
- Clear Your Table: After eating, clear your table of all dishes, trays, and utensils. This helps cafeteria staff maintain a clean cafeteria.
- No Saving of Seats: Avoid saving seats for friends who have not arrived. It follows first-come, first-served policy.
- Mind Personal Space: Respect the personal space of others. Don't crowd or lean over someone else's table.
- Keep Noise Levels Low: Be mindful of pitch of your voice or sound when talking or using electronic devices. Loud conversations disrupts others who are trying to eat or work.
- Use Headphones: If you want to listen to music or watch videos on your device, use headphones to avoid disturbing others.
- Hold Conversations Respectfully: Engage in conversations at an appropriate volume, and be mindful of the topics you discuss to avoid offending others.
- Follow Cafeteria Rules: Respect the rules or policies posted in the cafeteria, such as designated eating areas or mealtimes.
- Not to Occupy Sitting Space after Taking Meal: During peak hours, please be considerate and avoid occupying the table after your meal. Allow others to sit and enjoy their meal.
- Clean-Up Spills: If you happen to spill food or drink, clean it up promptly or notify cafeteria staff for assistance.
- Pay the Bill while Placing Order: When ordering food, beverage, or other items, pay the bills at the cash counter and deposit the receipt at the supply counter to collect the items.
- Be Courteous to Cafeteria Staff: Treat cafeteria workers with respect and appreciation. They work hard to provide you with meals.
- Mind Your Belongings: Keep bags, backpacks, and personal items in your own custody and out of the way to avoid creating obstacles
for others. Remember that good manners and etiquette create a positive environment in the cafeteria and contribute to a more
pleasant eating experience for everyone. It's important to be considerate to others and show respect and be courteous in shared
spaces like the university cafeteria.
