Successful Completion of Prize Giving Ceremony (Mother Language Fest, 2023)

Center for Language and Cultural Studies (CLCS) has successfully organized the Prize Giving Ceremony of the Mother Language Fest 2023 in Room 302, Building-A, at 3 p.m. on 18th May (Thursday), 2023. To commemorate International Mother Language Day, CLCS has successfully organized the Mother Language Fest for the 3rd time, from February 21 to March 8, 2023. During the fest, several events and competitions took place. Winners of those competitions received their awards from our chief guests, Prof. Dr. Md. Golam Sadmani Fakir, Honorable Vice Chancellor, Green University of Bangladesh, and Prof. Dr. Farhana Helal Mehtab, respected Dean of the Faculty of Law, Arts & Social Sciences, Green University of Bangladesh. Each of the winners received a Certificate of Distinctions and the top 5 winners received books of prominent writers. SK Mehedi Hasan, Dept. of CSE was awarded as the winner of the event titled “আন্তর্জাতিক মাতৃভাষা দিবস কুইজ প্রতিযোগিতা ২০২৩”. Shah Jalal and Marjana Akter Anika, Dept. of CSE, were awarded as the first and the second runners-up respectively. For the event “আঞ্চলিক ভাষার লড়াই: আমার জেলাই সেরা”, Md Musa from Munshiganj district, Dept. of Textile, Green University of Bangladesh received the award as the winner. Sourove Kumar Chakrabarty from Jessore and Md. Awrangajeb from Noakhali, Dept. of CSE, were awarded the second and third position, respectively. For the last event of the Fest titled "প্রমিত বাংলা বানান কুইজ প্রতিযোগিতা ২০২৩". Shah Jalal, Pranto Dutta, and SK Mehedi Hasan, Dept. of CSE won their prizes for the first, second, and third positions respectively. Dr. Serajum Munira, Director, of CLCS and Associate Professor, Dept. of English was the Session Chair and the faculty members of CLCS were also present in the ceremony. Ms. Sanjida Abedin Rafa and Mr. Jahid Hasan, Lecturers, at CLCS, organized the program. Mr. Rasel Kabir, Assistant Professor, CLCS, and Mr. Jahid Hasan, Lecturer, CLCS conducted the session. A warm reception program for Ms. Tanzia Mobarak, Lecturer, CLCS was arranged shortly after the ceremony. She is leaving for Canada very soon, on a study leave, to pursue her PhD at Université de Montréal. Prof. Dr. Md. Golam Sadmani Fakir, honorable Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Farhana Helal Mehtab, respected Dean of the Faculty of Law, Arts & Social Sciences, Dr. Serajum Munira, Director, CLCS & Associate Professor, Department of English, Green University of Bangladesh graced the event with their presence and valuable speeches. Moreover, faculty members of CLCS were also present at the event and they were reminiscing their work experiences with Ms. Tanzia Mobarak. CLCS family wishes all the very best for her higher studies.
