To encourage the students to read and learn outside their academic textbooks, and to introduce them to the question pattern and syllabus for the competitive job recruitment examinations, the Center for Languages and Cultural Studies frequently arranges quiz competitions for the students. Keeping up with the tradition Center for Languages and Cultural Studies arranged the National Victory Day Quiz Competition.
The Screening Round of the National Victory Day Quiz Competition 2023 was held on 14 December and a total number of two hundred and fifty students registered students from different departments of GUB participated in that screening round. The final round of the National Victory Day Quiz Competition was successfully held on 15 December 2023 at 11:00 AM, the final battle of the quiz was played at the Green University of Bangladesh situated in Purbachal American City, Kanchon 1460 Eighty students qualified for the final round to fight for the top positions. They had to answer eighty questions on various topics and fields in the final battle. The top ten students were given certificates and exciting gifts for their outstanding performance.
The certificate-giving ceremony was organized the very next day on 16 December 2023 in room A-302 Green University of Bangladesh. Major General Helal Morshed Khan, Bir Bikram, Former Chairman of Bangladesh Muktijhoddha Songhsad graced the event with his kind presence in the final round as the special guest. Faculty members of CLCS and other departments of GUB were also present in the certificate-giving ceremony. Md.Asraful Islamof EEE department beat everyone else to achieve the first position in the National Victory Day Quiz Competition 2023. Abu Sayem (English) and Md. Akbar Ali Mollik (EEE) achieved the second and third positions respectively. The top ten performers of the final round were awarded with certificates and exciting gifts and prizes for their
outstanding performances. Finally, Ms. Serajum Munira, honorable Director, CLCS ended the event with a vote of thanks and concluding remarks.
