Successful Completion of "Poetry Recitation Competition" of the Department of English

the English Club in collaboration with the Department of English has successfully organized a delightful event “Poetry Recitation Competition” for the students of this department to celebrate the literary arts, showcase the talents and gather the brilliant minds of the Department of English. This event was arranged on 29 December 2023 at 12 pm in room no: H 105.

In this program, our honorable Vice Chancellor (acting) Prof Dr. Khawza Iftekhar Uddin Ahmed Sir was invited as a chief guest and Distinguished Professor Dr. Md Golam Samdani Fakir Sir was invited as a distinguished guest though they couldn’t attend the program because of their tight schedule. 

We missed our honorable Treasurer Prof K.M. Wazed Kabir Sir’s presence as a special guest at the event and wish him quick recovery. Dr. M Shahidullah, Chairperson, Department of English & Dean of FASS adorned this program as a session chair. Along with them, the faculty members from the Department of English were present to uphold the spirits of our students.

The event started with the welcome speech of our Moderator, English Club M Ashiqur Rahman Sourav. He warmly welcomed the respected guests and motivated the students with his inspiring words. After going through a primary selection, 10 students were selected for the final event. They exhibited their artistic excellence in recitation. The judges and guests were overwhelmed by the mesmerizing performances of our students. Being a witness to so many amazing performances, our respected judges Md Shamim Mondol, Md Golam Mohiuddin and Md Zohorul Islam were in dilemma to select three participants as the prize achiever. We got three names as first second third respectively, Meherun Nesa (221020066), Tanisha Tafsin Basher (221020092) and Prapti Das Purba (212020008). Our honorable judges expressed their pleasure to have such talented students in the department and promised to organize a bigger platform for them. Finally, the Chairperson and Dean, FASS Dr. M. Shahidullah Sir cheered the students with his valuable insights and handed over the prizes to the participants.
