Successful Completion of 2nd Inter batch Cricket Tournament 2023 by the Dept of Sociology & Anthropology

We are delighted to inform you that the event management committee of the Green University Social Bonding Club in association with the Department of Sociology and Anthropology successfully organized the '2nd Inter-Batch Cricket Tournament 2023' on Friday, October 13, 2023, at the university playground. The program was inaugurated by the honorable chairperson of the Department of Sociology and Anthropology, Professor Dr. Abul Hossain, and also guided by Mr. Humayun Kabir, Deputy Moderator, Green University Sports Club. The day-long event started at 11.00 a.m. in the university playground. After proper scrutinization and maintaining the protocol of the sports committee, six teams (Team Ashfaq, Team Robin, Team Wasik, Team Siam, Team Rafiq, and Team 221) qualified for the first round. 11 players from every batch of these teams had tried hard and soulfully to qualify for the semi-final round. The playground was full of enthusiastic audiences who inspired their favorite team by shouting and showing beautiful placards and posters. Throughout a ruthless struggle, four well-built teams qualified for the semi-final round (Team Ashfaq, Team Robin, Team Wasik, and Team Siam). Then, after taking the jummah and lunch break, the semifinal round began at 2.30 p.m. In the semi-final round, two consecutive matches were held between Team Ashfaq and Team Robin and between Team Wasik and Team Siam. The batsmen and bowlers showed their skillful and bewildered performances to win over the entire team. At last, Team Ashfaq, and Team Wasik won in the semi-final round and qualified for the super-final round. Everyone was excited to watch and enjoy the final match. After a tough battle between these two teams, Team Wasik won the match and became the champion, and Team Ashfaq became the runners-up of the cricket tournament. After the whole event, the chief guest of the event, the honorable chairperson of the department, Prof. Dr. Abul Hossain Sir handed over the champion and runner-up trophy and prize money to the respected team. Despite several difficulties, challenges, and constraints, the event management committee nailed the event smoothly. We congratulate both the champion and runner-up teams for their enthusiasm, hard work, and determination. The event helps students boost their energy and encourages them to engage themselves in several extracurricular activities in the future.
