The Green Business School has successfully organized a webinar titled " Forensic Accounting: Career Opportunities & Challenges," unfolding on January 3, 2024, at 8:00 pm. The purpose of this program was to help our students prepare mentally for the possibility of pursuing a career in forensic accounting.
The event was graced by the presence of Mr. Mahmud Wahid, Chairperson, GBS as the Session Chair. The keynote speaker of the session was Dr. Md. Jamil Sharif, FCMA, Associate Professor, Department of Accounting & Information Systems, University of Dhaka.
The Keynote Speaker, Dr. Md. Jamil Sharif elaborated on the significance and meanings of forensic accounting in the context of theoretical framework. He explained the background of forensic accounting and the fraud diamond theory which was crucial to understand forensic accounting. He also differentiated among the auditing, fraud examination and forensic accounting.Later on, he gave the students an explanation of how to become a forensic accountant from Bangladesh as well as the professional requirements needed to hold that position. At last Dr. Jamil gave a practical touch by providing advice and examples from the real world for navigating a successful career path to become a forensic accountant.
The audience showed a great interest in learning about the subtleties of forensic accounting by participating enthusiastically in the Q&A session. The session chair of the webinar, Mr. Mahmud Wahid shared practical insights by providing real-life examples, illustrating the impact and implications of forensic accounting. He expressed gratitude to the Keynote Speaker, Dr. Md. Jamil Sharif and all the participants.
All things considered, the webinar was a huge success, leaving participants motivated, knowledgeable, and better prepared for the path ahead. In addition to offering a road map for becoming a forensic accountant, the webinar encouraged community building and teamwork among attendees.
