Greetings from Green University Center for International Affairs (GCiA).
I was delighted to represent Green University of Bangladesh in the Asia-Pacific Association for International Education (APAIE) conference, which took place from March 4–8, 2024, at the Perth Convention Centre in Australia. As a dedicated educator, I was truly proud to witness our institution's proactive engagement in global endeavors aimed at advancing international education and fostering cross-cultural understanding.
The APAIE conference is a prestigious event that brings together representatives from universities across the Asia-Pacific region and beyond. Held annually, the conference serves as a platform for networking, collaboration, and the exchange of ideas in the field of international education. During the conference, participants engage in a variety of activities, including keynote speeches, panel discussions, workshops, and networking sessions. These events cover a wide range of topics related to internationalization in higher education, such as student mobility, academic partnerships, cultural exchange programs, and global research collaborations.
During the event, I had fruitful conversations with representatives from a number of universities in foreign countries, including those in Canada, Australia, UK, China, Japan, Taiwan, Malaysia, and Thailand. Important participants in these talks were directors, international operations managers, heads of internationalization offices, and deans. It was an excellent opportunity to establish collaborative relationships with overseas universities, focusing on initiatives such as exchange programs, dual degree arrangements, summer schools, visiting scholar programs, and inviting guest lecturers.
The APAIE conference represents a significant milestone for GUB, positioning it within the global academic community. GUB’s engagement with diverse stakeholders at APAIE conference reflects their dedication to fostering meaningful partnerships and exchange opportunities on a global scale. The event offers abundant opportunities for students and faculty, including short-semester programs, research internships, and collaborations with visiting scholars. Beyond immediate gains, the conference sets the stage for long-term partnerships as GCiA is preparing to sign MOUs with several foreign universities. Overall, the conference enhances GUB's reputation and promotes a culture of innovation and internationalization, offering a bright future of academic growth and collaboration.
The attached images from the conference beautifully capture the energy and vibrancy of the event, showcasing the dedication to global engagement and academic excellence.
As we celebrate the success of our participation at the APAIE conference, let's stay committed to nurturing a culture of innovation, inclusivity, and internationalization at GUB. Together, let us continue to inspire and empower the next generation of global citizens and leaders.
